Ray and Gail, married 33 years with four adult children and two grandchildren, are among the earliest home-schooling parents in the country. He is also director of the Exodus 2000 project, a nationwide effort to encourage the removal of Christian children from the public school system. He also thinks that nationalized public education should be eliminated altogether. There is not a constitutional provision for it, he explains; moreover, the Bible forbids it. "We are told to teach the ministry of the church, to disciple other nations, but this should apply to our own families as well." Instead, "we are sending our children to pagan schools."
