Sprint Controls the PUC
NORTH CAROLINA PUBLIC STAFF UTILITIES COMMISSION

Mr. Albert Coombs 7055 Mountain Road Oxford, NC 27565-7730
Dear Mr. Coombs:
We received your recent letter in which you question Sprint's response to your
July 29, 2004 letter of complaint.
Sprint is correct in stating that the rate increase reflected on your bill
did not require a public hearing. As their letter states, raising rates in one
area allowed a decrease in rates in another area. These rate changes are in
compliance with the rules and regulations of the Utilities Commission.
In addition, Sprint did correctly explain in their letter to you the wireless
local number portability charge. This charge will appear on your bill for five
months.
The purpose of our particular office is to act as a liaison between customers
and the companies against which they have complaints. It is our responsibility
to contact companies when we receive a complaint against them in order to give
them an
opportunity to respond to the complaint. While we realize you are not satisfied
with' Sprint's response, it is our position that they have responded appropriately.
Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have additional questions.
Sincerely,
Rhoda Torres, Complaint Analyst
