8th Circus Court of Appeals Rides Again
How Much is Too Much?

June 6, 2007

Hello, Folks;

Well, the black robed imposters, in the 8th Circus Court of Appeals has gone over the top...again. In a decision in U.S. v. Carter 481 F.3d 601 (8th Circuit 2007) the bunch of clowns has shown the American people just why they should join the No Vote Party and stop supporting a Congress and President who appoint and confirm judges who hand down these types of outrageous decisions.

In this case, and don't get the idea I am soft on crime, which I'm not, Mr. Carter was part of a drug distribution ring in Minnesota which was in competition against another bunch of like minded people. There was a lot of violence and lots of drugs sold, or so the prosecution proved at a lengthy trial.

After the trial, Judge Joan N. Ericksen sentenced Carter's associate, Mr. Greenlaw, to 422 months in prison. The U.S. Attorney wasn't happy with that sentence. He felt it was too short and appealed. The 8th Circus clowns, MURPHY, HANSEN and RILEY thought so too. They remanded with a decision to add 25 years to Greenlaw's sentence, adding up to 722 months. For those of you who don't want to do the math, that adds 25 years to the initial 37 plus years.

That is a total of 62 years.

The reporting authorities tell us it costs $55,000 per year to house a federal inmate. It will cost about $3,410,000.00 to house and feed Greenlaw for 62 years, if he lives that long. Add to that what has to be an enormous cost for prosecution of a case that takes weeks to try and you have a substantial expenditure for him and his many co-defendants.

I have a better idea. Leave them alone and through natural attrition brought about by competition, these groups will for the most part eliminate each other at no more cost to society than hauling off the corpses and burying them. This will result in a substantial savings to all of us that can be better spent in social programs to improve education, housing, and nutrition for those not now involved in the type of activities that led Mr. Carter and Mr. Greenlaw to become the subjects of this article.

Even better yet! While you are considering that proposal, give more thought to joining the No Vote Party and stop putting into office people who expand the type of judicial system which is destroying our nation with its depredations on our resources.

D. Tom
