Remember "Network"
July 10, 2007
Hello, Folks;
I am reminded of the movie "Network" and the oft repeated phrase "I am mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!"
Kind of sounds familiar, doesn't it?
I have all too often heard that phrase or ones similar to it stated by people who are sick and tired of all the government corruption, lies, cheating, and intrusions into their lives.
What do you think the impact would be at, for the sake of illustration, a county commissioners meeting where they have overstepped the bounds of propriety and 50 to 60 people stand up and chant "We are tired and you are fired!"? Yes, the commissioners will be upset and even express their anger at such a display. Perhaps they will even try to get local police to step in and eject those expressing their political opinions. That being the case, the Chief of Police is subject to the same treatment...or the Sheriff, if appropriate.
Once the news media get their hands on such a story, the time is ripe for circulating recall petitions and sign-up sheets for those who want to join the No Vote Party.
Recalling the commissioners who would shut down the rights of those from whom the commissioners get paid to express their displeasure at the commissioners' impropriety is made easier when that same group of people enlist the aid and assistance of more folks to get signatures on the recall petitions, speak in public forums on the subject of government excesses and oppression of rights of the people in general. Such a talk can be built from grass roots organizations who gather together with dedication and purpose to make a change.
If groups start to be successful at the local level, it will encourage others to do likewise and, hopefully, build a groundswell of like activities that will spread across the country.
The same concept can spill over into state and federal arenas in dealing with officials who do not want to do their job.
The impact of a thousand signatures on a local recall petition would be profound. Once momentum is built up, the self-sustaining inertia can lead to success much faster than one would think.
The net effect of such a movement on a Congressional district-wide basis will most certainly get the attention of the individual elected to Congress.
An effort of this type begins with the generation of a large number of inexpensive recall petitions, and the minimum effort necessary to put them in public place where signatures can be garnered. Collect them on a weekly basis and put new ones out. After a few weeks, you should have a solid base from which to expand the movement. Going on local TV and radio talk shows will get the word out and should be done in a civil and educated manner by people who have a working knowledge of the issues and can speak in a way that will have people listening interested in becoming active in the pursuit of the common goal.
If these government employees are paid by the people, the people have a perfect right to fire them, when they don't do their jobs and/or don't live up to their oath of office.
Yes, it is that simple.
What are you going to do about it today?
