Nanny Congress is now looking at the following "problems" facing us(?) or them?????

1. Obesity increasing cause of "preventable" death.

When did Congress decide death is preventable? Have members been there so long that they find themselves to have been given given eternal life? Is it discrimination that they have it and their constituents do not? Have we missed some really important announcement? Did the government controlled media withhold such important information from the public? Does that mean that one of the most obese senators will go on living forever?

2. Baseball club owners allow "cheaters"[who use steroids] in the sport.

Does this mean there are no "cheaters" in Congress? If baseball players are to be looked up to (by members of Congress who claim to be avid sports fans) by the youth of America, should not the members of Congress come under the same guidelines?
Is the practice of pork barreling with the taxpayers money cheating? Is the obfuscation of constitutional issues cheating on the public? Where in the Constitution does it say Congress owns baseball clubs? Will Senator McCain buy up all the ball clubs in order to control the players?

3. Movies depicting "smoking" must have 'R' rating.

Any more questions on the above statement would be redundant but here goes anyway. Is Congress forcing the public to go to movies? Are the members now visiting each and every home in the U.S. to ascertain the effect "movies" have on minors? Is this where our tax dollars are going? How many more 'commissions' are going to be paid for in order to hide the lack of time being spent on Constitutional matters? What example is the foul language (quotes) used on a presidential candidate's web site setting for the these same future voters? Are the movies any worse?

None of the above 'problems' are under the control of Congress. The money being used to investigate them IS under their control but does not belong to them. To date I have never seen an armed guard directing diners into a McDonalds or any other entity selling food, fattening or otherwise. Will there be armed guards keeping the public out of restaurants? Will investigators be hired to check on the contents of our pantries? Don't be surprised if someone in DC decides this is the best way to go.

Frankly it is a darn shame that Congress has found eternal life. We have given it to them and they revel in it.. We seem to enjoy this interference in our lives. So....I am certain that all of the complainers will welcome new law from DC ordering them to stay home to eat, do not watch ball games on TV and above all, do NOT go to movies. But then the nannies would have little to investigate, wouldn't they.
