The Sorry State of the Nation

The end of another year is here. The press, magazines, political 'pundits' (so-called), talk shows, major networks on TV, are all citing the "News Stories" of 2005. The Democrats are at their worst/best in attempting to destroy the country and the Presidency any way they can. The Republicans still have their tails tucked between their legs, having long since abandoned any pretense of being winners of the last election. The President continues to tout a "Democracy" for the world, obviously having forgotten his history lessons and the fact that we are not (but are treated as one) a democracy. We are/were a Republic. There are few people left in the country who understand what that means and even they have fallen prey to the propaganda spouted daily at every turn.

Members of Congress have no earthly idea what the document they have sworn to uphold says or means. If they did we would not have their entire bodies inside our tents taking over every aspect of our lives. The mantra heard over and over is "call another hearing for an investigation"!!! This of course allows them to preen and pose for the cameras with the press giving them the publicity and notoriety they so wantonly crave. Call them the terrorists of America, which they are, and the FBI and IRS are immediately at your door. They would have us believe that paperwork is our protection from all the perils thrown at us daily. Nothing is said of the hordes of illegal immigrants crossing our borders, terrorizing the citizens in the Southwest, and property destruction, medical facilities overtaxed and closing.

Our schools have become the most dangerous institutions in the world. Our children are instructed in how to sue parents, have sex, use drugs, lobby politicians, save the world, and anything but literacy. They can't read, make logical decisions and are bored to death. The government has successfully completed the goals they set 30 years ago, and our state legislators continue to tax and tax, and tax, citizens to pay for this travesty.

"Steal", "spend" and "bribe" are the middle names of 99% of the politicians in DC. They have the gall to come back and ask for votes. Their constituents are just gullible enough to vote them back into office. Are Americans going to continue allowing this to take place? Having lived many many years in this country I see this is quite possible. The lies have become a way of life and there is little hope of change. We may as well turn all our money over the the government since they have determined they are in control and we are too stupid to see otherwise.

If this is where America is, and is going, we no longer have a country. Yet we are trying to tell other countries how to live. So far we have not been murdered, gassed, or shot. Oh, I did forget, our prisons incarcerate more persons than any other country in the world; presently over two million.
