Graham In A Snit
I was at the South Carolina Republican Party state convention Saturday. Lindsey Graham's anger, visible all over YouTube.com is a sign that he's very, very afraid. He always gets pissy whenever any of us plebians dare to publicly denounce him as the fascist/socialist/traitor he is but he was EXTRA arrogant and EXTRA pissy this time.
If you watch the video footage of his speech, you'll see that he bitched at us for nearly the entire time. Believe it or not, we went relatively easy on him this time and he, in turn, foamed at the mouth in his denunciations of us. In other words, he was spittin' mad at us. He reminded me of Barney Frank for some reasons.
The true conservatives, libertarians, and Constitution-supporting citizens were there in force. Gov. Sanford and Sen. DeMint had everyone that I could see standing for long and sustained ovations.
Graham's applause was not nearly as enthusiastic: about what some of the lower ranking state officeholders got and LESS THAN HALF of the convention was standing for him.
Graham DOES NOTICE THINGS LIKE THIS despite his narcissism and supreme arrogance. Make no mistake, it hurts his sissy-boy feelings even though he has already declared himself "Senator-for-life" in the "grand" tradition of the late "Senile-in-office" Strom Thurmond. He has even threatened to marry someone (a woman?) much younger than he but I sincerely doubt he's ever fathered any illegitimate children.
Graham thinks he rules from a position of power when he tells us what we're going to do. He thinks that he can't be touched thanks to the help of cross-over voting in the primaries and fall elections. That's the reason he's against closed Republican primaries.
If Lindsey Graham had not paid off a lot of Democrats in the state, he could not have won: http://www.congressdb.com/moneydb/earmarklist/300047/2008/
Graham requested over $305 million in FY2007 alone. Nice little boost to the $4 to $6 million he spent on radio & TV ads lying about his record during the 2008 campaign against virtually unfunded opponents who ran against him in the primary and fall elections. If an entrenched politician can get himself re-elected with special favor earmarks from US taxpayers' money, how then do we un-elect him?
A good start is accelerating his loss of support within the party. He can't win if enough of the party refuses to support him. There is no other single politician so reviled in the state of S.C. yet he, due to his nature, is unable to reform and will have to be forcibly retired from office (and no doubt get a job on NBC as a political commentator).
People who simply want the U.S. Constitution enforced are in the party now and we're not going away. We have the momentum, we have the passion, we have the organization, and we show up in large numbers.
We seated a lot of our alternates as voting delegates because many of the elder party members didn't bother to come despite the wheelchair accessible ramps and elevators at the convention hall. There was also plenty of room for their heart-monitoring equipment and oxygen bottles. I even spotted some defibrillators. As you can see, there was really no excuse for their absence.
We the People who support the U.S. Constitution know a lot about the party political processes already and are are learning more every day. We'll have at least twice as many seated at the next state convention. It won't be a pretty picture for Lindsey Gaham.
If you're reading this and have guts, spit out your neo-con kool-aid and join the "Constitutional Generation!" We're 1776/1787 Revolutionaries and we're making a positive difference already.
