The Corruption of a Materialist Society
Members of BOTH parties are GUILTY of aiding and abetting the corporations' plundering of the taxpayers' money. Boys and girls, this is called "fascism" which is a form of "socialism." We haven't had a true free market system here in many decades so don't go blaming "capitalism" for our current predicament! Let's all be adults and face up to the reality of the situation.
Fascism has existed for hundreds of years--long before Hitler and Mussolini--and has outlived them in most of the world. Our government's leaders today just argue over who gets to plunder the treasury the most.
Lindsey Graham is, as I've pointed out many times before, the "Corporate Welfare Queen" of the U.S. Senate. He just happens to be the most obvious example of the typical corporatist whore in D.C. Everything he does is to promote himself and put himself between our money and ourselves while saying he is working to the opposite end.
It's the same play most politicians make--it helps them to get re-elected and stay in power. They take our money from us at wholesale and dribble back a wee bit to us in the form of services and benefit programs at costs way over what the retail would be if the government weren't in the middle to begin with. This is especially true of medical care.
The amount of money flowing back from the Federal government and through the state, county, and local governments is really obscene! Start going to the county council meetings and keeping track of how many federal and state programs that are handing out our tax money are up for discussion and votes. They NEVER turn it down and many will ask, "Why not take the mone?" Our mere cooperation in those programs and funds will wind up being the rope our economy is hanged with.
Everyone whose hands the money passes through gets a cut one way or another. Very little actually gets back to the hard working and responsible citizens of this country (who would be much better off if allowed to keep their money to begin with). Almost all of the government money goes to corporations of some sort or another through building projects or other services contracted out.
Government members in the know at any level are subject to corruption with ANY such program because they inevitably will have an influence on who in the business community gets the contracts. One way to end 90% or more of government corruption would be to stop their using our money except for the absolute necessities. Those necessary functions should be the smallest part of a necessary evil that government at every level represents.
Removing the temptation from politicians is like locking your door at night. It won't keep a determined criminal out but it will be an effective deterrent to those mostly honest ones who may waver every once in a while. Right now the system is geared to corrupt all politicians and they make all sorts of rules--mostly for show--regulating the amount of influence (aka "corruption") lobbyists and others are allowed to have over them. Then most of them ignore or tap dance around those rules anyway. As you may have noticed on the news, if one of them flagrantly breaks the rules and is a member of the party in power, they won't even be prosecuted nowadays so there is very little incentive to obey the laws that they expect us peons to.
All this spending and spending money is and has been from the beginning (late 19th century) an unsustainable scam and when they get into trouble they just plunder us even more because of the "emergency" THEY created! But even the self-declared omniscient government can't defy the laws of economics for very long--so hold on tight, folks! The roller coaster is just about to go down again and most of y'all will just continue with your "team-sports" political idiocy and wonder what happened with your party's leaders after we have careened off the tracks an crashed.
Fall of this year (hopefully no sooner) will be the next economic crash in all probability. We're living on borrowed time as it is. Start getting ready!
The ultimate result of a prolonged series of economic crashes in the next several years may, ironically, restore us to a government more closely based on the Constitution and the principles it was founded on. Great social upheavals can work either way. They can lead to greater governmental consolidation and control as they often have in the past (1930s Germany for example) or they can lead to a break up of an empire (1990s USSR). Hopefully, in the latter case, it will bring about the libertarian ideal of more local self-control and power flowing up from the people and the states through the levels of the government rather than the reverse.
What happens to the shreds of a country after a devastating collapse will depend on how many of us stand up and make the necessary sacrifices and do the hard work needed to restore liberty. We will have to work hard against the socialists and fascists who believe that THEY will be the ones to come out on top.
Liberty is neither right nor left. Liberty is up or down. You have a lot of liberty or you have a moderate amount of liberty, or you have very little liberty. We're right about in the middle now and falling fast.
What can you do about it? Personally, I'm working with the Campaign for Liberty and other associated groups that are cooperating and working TOGETHER to stop cooperating with tyranny. When we hear the same old technocratic, pragmatical, or otherwise tyrannical vomit spewing forth from the putrid mouths of our so-called leaders, we call them on it.
We're also working hard to push a pro-liberty agenda. This a proactive movement that is already starting to have an affect. It is much better than being constantly on the defensive as many politicians are who, in the past, have so often appealed to us and promised much, much more than they ever had any intention of doing.
In other words, we're putting our politicians back to WORK. After all, they are public SERVANTS! We need to take the whip back from their hands and use it mercilessly on them for a change. Come on and help us out! It is a LOT of fun!
