"GREEN HEIL!"
Sounds like the so-called "greenies" are smoking too much of their personal crops. They're pushing "cap and trade" again but I really don't believe that they believe it will do anything but expand government and the mega-corporations tight grip on it.
Call me a cynic if you will but the way I see it "cap and trade" is just another fascist giveaway to major corporations placing them and the politicians in more control and raping us for even more tax money. All you have to do is look at the new "stock market" in "carbon credits" that they create with the legislation.
Carbon credits are essentially dispensations for corporations to pollute that are granted by his Holiness, The Carbon Credit Czar (or whoever gets to manage this scam). This new form of exchange is essentially created out of thin air--equivalent to printing money with nothing to back it. The end users of energy--rich and poor alike--will be paying for all of this. The poor get poorer, small businesses are shut down and the glorious uber-mega-corporation called the Congress of the United States of America forever consolidates and entrenches itself with a myriad of avenues of corruption. After all, the quickest way to a Congress member's vote is through his wallet.
This new layer of corruption and government/corporate incest is, of course, completely unnecessary. We already have laws against pollution, right? Do the "carbon credits" override these laws and allow extra pollution? Are the original laws not enough? Did the non-bill-reading airheads in Congress just not really mean to enact the pollution laws the first time around?
It's just more fascist corporate welfare aimed at the elites who are reaping even more tax money on the ostentatious pretense of helping the environment. It's amazing to me to watch the big lies that keep coming at us non-stop. The politicians at least pretend to believe them because they want the tax money going to corporations as well. They're, of course, getting well paid to act the part of global warming believers. In fact, it is apparent now that the members of Congress have now themselves become the well-paid lobbyists of mega-corporate America. The former, unelected, corporate lobbyists have now evolved into nothing more than mere pay clerks funneling money to the members of Congress.
The folks behind these sorts of mega-government/mega-corporate scams must have calculated just how many people would believe these idiotic Chicken Little appraisals of the earth's future and/or be sheep willing to be shorn. I bet the perpetrators of these endless scams have memorized "The Bell Curve" so they know approximately how many dullards are out there ready to be swindled. They seem to have gotten down to an art corrupt enough to get a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Hitler's big lie was racial purity. The fascist socialists of today have as their big lie the purity of the environment. Sorry, but I don't march to that goose-stepping drummer, either!
